Boeing Vertol CH-113 Labrador
The Labrador, a twin-engine helicopter, began service in 1962. It first was first used as an Army transport helicopter and in 1975 became the work-horse of Canada's Search and Rescue (SAR) efforts. It had a watertight hull for marine landings, a rescue hoist, 1,110 kilometer flying range, 5,000 kilogram cargo hook, emergency medical equipment and an 18 person passenger capacity.
Replaced by the Agusta Westland EH101, designated CH-149 Cormorant, in 2003, the CH-113 Labrador was retired from active service in 2004.
